Darryl Carter: A Little Colonial, A Lot Awesome

Darryl Carter: A Little Colonial, A Lot Awesome

I actually found Darryl Carter’s book, The New Traditional, at our local library… I know, super stylish library right?! I flipped through the first few pages–Mind–Blown. I love everything about simple, utilitarian, colonial style. I hadn’t come across anyone who so beautiful honed in on that sensibility, while seamlessly incorporating very modern pieces. Each room, or has he refers to them “envelope”, has everything I love about design; old, new, and antlers 😉  All with a neutral palate. Not too feminine, not too masculine, just right. And he is from NOVA/DC! What? DC isn’t exactly know for its fabulous interiors… well not until now. I have been admiring his work for sometime now, me and just about every notable design publication. Just wanted to post some of my favs for a little Monday inspiration.
